Keller, Helmuth: Born in Fischen, Germany. Started playing violin at age six, and played professionally for 12 years. Studied making at the school in Mittenwal under Aschauer and Karner, graduated in 1952. Worked for a short time with his father-in-law, Johannes Nebel. Immigrated to the United States in in 1952. Worked for William Moennig in Philadelphia 1952-1966. Established own shop there in 1966. Has used a variety of models, including several of his own. Hanmade purfling. Handwritten label. Member of the American federation of Violin and bow makers.

Keller, Steven: Born in Abington, PA. Started playing the violin at age of six. Studied making at the school in Mittenwald under Roland Sander, graduated in 1979. Own model. Is making violins, violas, cellos. Also doing repair and restoration work.
